I’m looking forward to the next couple of Sundays in our “In a Nutshell” sermon series. This Sunday, July 6, we will take a look at “Discipleship in a Nutshell.”
What person in the past has helped you the most to experience a close walk with Jesus ? Do you have such a person in your life right now ? How much of a difference would it make if you did ? Are you, in turn, being that kind of person to someone else ? What keeps you from that ? Could discipleship be a really great blessing God would like to pour into your life … and into the lives of those you impact ?
On Sunday, July 13, we’ll take a look at “Miracles in a Nutshell,” from the perspective of the feeding of the 5000 in John 6.
Does God perform miracles ? What exactly is a “miracle” ? Was the feeding of the 5000 really a miracle ? Why does God perform miracles ? Should we expect God to perform miracles today ?
Tom on vacation
I will be taking some vacation time next week, July 7-12, and will not be available by phone, email, or text message. If you have a need, please contact Pastor Jeff or one of the elders. Thank you !

Missions Trip
We are going back to Chicago August 21-24 for a repeat Backpack / Food Kitchen experience with Tyrell and Rachel Shoemaker and Inner City Impact mission. We have wonderful memories of the Lord using this missions trip last year and hope you will consider joining the team this year. The trip is open to any adult and to any teen with a parent accompanying them. The team will be traveling via Amtrak. A sign-up is available at the back of the worship area this month and next. Please contact Catherine Mahoney or another member of the Missions Team if you have questions.
FYI : Scriptorium
Some of you have been involved in the past in a “Scriptorium” sponsored by the Hannibal Evangelical Free Church where portions of Scripture are recited from memory over a course of several days. This year Scripture Memory Fellowship is sponsoring another Scriptorium in Hannibal during the week of July 21-26. About 40 memorizers will recite a large portion of the New Testament from memory. Marquis Laughlin will present the book of Revelation at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal at the morning and evening services on the 26th. He will also give a seminar called “How to Memorize Anything.” If you’re interested in knowing more about this event or about Scripture Memory Fellowship, contact them at .
“Your words were found and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart … “ (Jeremiah 15:16).
Let’s rejoice in God’s word and in His presence this Sunday ! Hope to see you there !
Gospel of John class continues at 9:00 for adults.
Great worship and a nutshell sermon at 10:15.
