Hello everyone !
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour this evening. You won’t want to miss church tomorrow ! We will begin a sermon series that will lead us up to Easter called “Christ’s Victory Commands.” Five times in the New Testament – four times in the gospel, and once in the book of Acts – the Lord used an expression when addressing people that turns out to be a key for you and me to experiencing victory in our own lives. That expression is interpreted in various ways in English versions of the Bible. In the King James Version, it’s the old expression “Be of good cheer” ; in other English versions of the Bible, the translation comes out as “Take courage,” or “Take heart.”
Tomorrow we’ll take a look at the first time this victory command appears. It’s in Matthew 9, the story of Jesus’ healing of the paralytic : “Take courage, son ; your sins are forgiven.”
If you should hear the voice of the Lord Jesus himself saying to you personally at this moment, “Be of good cheer !” would it make a difference to you ? If you could be assured that in every situation in your life there is a command from Christ that you should have courage and peace and joy, would that be a sufficient secret of victory ?
Let’s enjoy being together, worshiping the Lord, and being equipped for a victorious life this Sunday morning. Worship at 10:15. Adult classes and activities for young people at 9:00.

Easter morning will include an early time of worship led by some of our young people ; breakfast ; baptisms ; and a celebration of the Lord’s resurrection at 10:15. I hope you’ll be there !
Pastor Search Committee
Our Pastor Search Team – Becky Aldrich, Rich Brune, Laura Maddox, Allison Roth, and Lucas Schneider – is doing a great job moving our church into the initial phases of a search for a new Senior Pastor. If you are not presently receiving their email updates, but would like to, please let me or one of the team members know and we will make sure you’re on the list.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 9:00 and 10:15 a.m. !
