I’m excited about the new sermon series we’ll be starting this Sunday morning at 10:15. Over the next several weeks, we’re going to comb through the Book of Proverbs where we find God’s perspective on everyday life. In fact, the Book of Proverbs could be thought of as God’s Prescription for everyday life. So, we’re calling our sermon series “God’s Rx for Everyday Life.” In April and May, we’ll take a look at the very practical instruction God gives in Proverbs :
God’s Rx for Wisdom
God’s Rx for Relationships
God’s Rx for My Speech
God’s Rx for Marriage
God’s Rx for Parenting
God’s Rx for Money
Over the years, the Book of Proverbs has been a source of comfort and clarity for me personally. I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we consider God’s Rx for wisdom, from Proverbs chapters 1 and 3.
Not too late to join 301 course for adults !
If you want to discover more about how God has equipped you to serve Him (throughout all of life, and specifically here at Emmanuel), it’s not too late to join the adult 301 course, “Discovering My Ministry,” Sunday at 9:00. This will be only the second week of the class, but it’s an especially important one where we discuss our S.H.A.P.E. for ministry. What’s your S.H.A.P.E ? Join us Sunday in the dining room at church. And don’t forget, that the adult study in the Book of Romans continues at 9:00 as well in the conference room. Anyone is welcome.
Pastor Search Committee
Did you receive the most recent update from our Pastor Search Committee ? The PSC is doing a great job listening to you and seeking God’s clarity for the kind of senior pastor needed at Emmanuel ! Let’s keep members of the PSC in our prayers – Becky Aldrich, Rich Brune, Laura Maddox, Allison Roth, and Lucas Schneider. And let’s be praying for our Elder Board as well which is presently communicating with interim pastor candidates. We anticipate an interim pastor coming to serve Emmanuel in June.
I hope others of you will join several of us next Tuesday at noon for prayer for Emmanuel and beyond ! We meet for about half-an-hour. Join us, or let us know if you need prayer.
